Female health focuses on the treatment and diagnosis of diseases and conditions that specifically pertain to the physical and emotional well-being of women. Women have unique health issues such as menopause and conditions affecting the female organs. Dr. Salada provides screening and treatment for a number of women’s health issues. The following is a partial list of women’s health issues that Dr. Salada addresses:
A mammogram is performed to screen women in order to detect breast cancer at an early stage when it is most likely to be cured. Starting at age 40, women should have one every 1-2 years.
The Pap test is done in order to check for the presence of cervical cancer. This screening should start at age 21.
A urinary tract infection or UTI is an infection of any part of the urinary system, including your kidneys, ureters, bladder and urethra.
Menopause is part of the natural progression of aging in women that occurs between the ages of 45 – 55 with the gradual cessation of menstrual periods.
